International Istanbul Economics Research Conference (IIERC) is organized by Istanbul University Faculty of Economics and partner universities every year in the month of November within the framework of the recent economic developments in the world.
MISSION
Objectives
The main objective of the International Istanbul Economics Research Conference is
- To provide an environment where young researchers who research and analyze economic developments in the world can discuss and share their work.
- To create a general awareness of the significance of the field among professional economists as well as the public at large.
- To promote the study of economics by encouraging researches in the field through the publication of scholarly works.
2021 THEME
“Post-covid ERA, Future of ECONOMIES AND world order”.
In 2021, the conference theme is “Post-Covid Era , Future of Economies and World Order”. This theme aligns with the leading impactful research and activities being undertaken by all researchers in the world and it reflects the important role of covid effect on country and world economy.

Professor Fevzi OKUMUS - University of Central Florida - CFHLA Preeminent Chair Professor

Dr. Fevzi Okumus is the CFHLA Preeminent Chair Professor within the Hospitality Services Department at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management. He joined the Rosen College in 2005. He was the founding Chair of the Hospitality Services Department from 2007-2013.
He received his PhD in Strategic Hotel Management from Oxford Brookes University, UK. He has a Master of Science degree in International Hotel Management from Oxford Brookes University, UK and a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality and tourism from Cukurova University, Turkey. He worked in the hotel industry in various functional areas and roles before becoming an educator.
He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management (IJCHM), which has an Impact Factor of 5.667 and is one of the leading journals in the hospitality and tourism field. He is also the Editor of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Insights. He serves on the editorial boards of 26 international journals. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences. He is a Visiting Professor at San Yet Sen University’s Business School in Guangzhou, China, and Visiting Chair Professor at the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism.
Professor Javed Ghulam Hussain - Birmingham City University - Business SchoolProfessor Javed Ghulam Hussain is Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance at Birmingham City University where he currently leads the Accounting and Finance Group. Professor Hussain completed his PhD (1996) and M. Soc. Sci (1987) in Money, Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham and a first degree in Economics, BA (Hons) From Birmingham Polytechnic (1985).
Currently, Professor Hussain supervises a number of PhDs in the areas of corporate, micro and small business finance. Furthermore, he is conducting collaborative research on differences in entrepreneurship and SME financing between developed and developing countries. In particular, considering the issues of SMEs within the Malaysian context. He is a peer referee for a number of international journal publications.
